ST. PAUL'S PRAYER FOR HEBREWS
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua - Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam
In the prayer of St. Paul Hebrews address both the God Father and the Son Lord. God Father is the God of peace and God of strength. Raising the son Lord Jesus Christ from death is the great expression of the strength of God. Where there is God, there is peace. Jesus was a good, great and chief shepherd. Jesus established a new covenant of Holy Communion and endorsed it with the blood shed on the cross. The covenant is the final and eternal.'

COME NEAR TO GOD
By Rev. Fr. Mohan Joseph
Man being the combination of the soil from earth and the Godly factor of Godís breath, man does his journey in search of God. If this quest is missing in the man, he feels emptiness in life. When Moses met the Lord he was asked to remove the sandal from his feet. This is a symbolic act for the purity of mind, de-linking from the worldly matters and removal of any mask. These are the basic needs when approach the Lord.

TWO WORD PRAYER OF ST. PAUL : MARANATHA
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua - Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam
Maranatha is the smallest prayer of St. Paul, we can see in his epistles. Maranatha is an Aramaic phrase occurring once only in the New Testament and also in the Didache which is part of the Apostolic Fathers' collection. It is transliterated into Greek letters rather than translated, and is found at the end of Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians. (1 Corinthians 16:22) This was a traditional prayer of early Christian Church which means 'O Lord, come!', for the early return of Jesus Christ. The prayer interpretation of the word is supported by what appears to be a Greek equivalent of this acclamation in Rev 22:20 'Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!'

LIQUOR FREE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR
By Rev. Fr. K.K. John, Philadelphia
As per the New Testament, body of person is the temple of God and it should be preserved holy as a Church. God is Holy and He can dwell only in a holy temple. Man himself is not holy or saintly as God is the only holy. Believers who keep the holiness of God became the Saint in God. They produce the fruits of Holy Spirit. We should not defile the temple of God with vices of world and flesh. Intoxication with liquor, over indulgence fleshy desires, addiction of drugs, and these all defile the body which is the temple of God. As per guidance of the Holy Church, believers should follow its temperance activities.

Christmas is a festival of amazement. As the birth of Christ within a virgin girl is beyond the wisdom and sense of man and hence the birth of Christ is amazement. God who is omnipresent in the universe became a zygote is a bewildering news for the human brain. Usually the standard news became stale after few hours or after few days. BE PATIENT IN TRIBULATION
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua - Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam
Tribulation in life is an integral part of human life irrespective of gender, culture, education or class. St. Paul exhorts us to keep perseverance in tribulation. Jesus taught us that we have tribulation in the world, but take courage as He had overcome the world. When the first man did sin in the Garden of Eden and henceforth man could not but eat in sorrow all the days of his life. As per the scripture our attitude of endurance towards tribulation is more important.

TIGHT CORNERS OF LIFE
By Rev. Fr. M.P. George
Though Joseph was in the dark prison, falsely accused, eventually he was honored and favored by the providence of God, which had made him a minister of Egypt. Though he was sufferer, his imprisonment made both honorable and comfortable by the tokens of Godís special presence with him. Joseph was at a distance from all his friends and relations, but the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy. With all his sufferings Joseph firmly believed in God and considered all his sufferings as the will of God.

BE WITH THE MIND OF CHRIST
By Jibu C. Joy
Christians should be like-minded of Christ to be diligent and serious in Christian course. To love one another being of one accord is the law of Christís kingdom. We must bear a resemblance to the life of Christ, if we would have the benefit of His death. Christ was eminently humble, and this is what we are peculiarly to learn of Him. If we were like Christ, we should be lowly-minded. We must walk in the same spirit and in the same steps with the Lord Jesus.

BRETHREN, LOVE EACH OTHER
By H.G. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios Metropolitan
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. Faith, hope, and love, are the three principal graces, of which charity is the chief, being the end to which the other two are but means. This is the divine nature, the soulís felicity, or its complacential rest in God, and holy delight in all his saints. But love fastens on the divine perfections themselves, and the divine image on the creatures, and our mutual relation both to God and them.

PRAYER OF ST. PAUL FOR THE THESSALONIANS
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua - Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam
St. Paul desired that the faith of the Thessalonians might be perfected and so he prays to the Lord in the deepest love to them as father, to make the way to meet them again soon. This kind of affection by the church fathers towards the spiritual children is extremely needed for current fathers. He earnestly prayed for the prosperity of their souls. Mutual love is required of all Christians between themselves, and between the church fathers and the spiritual children. Apostle mentions his love, his abounding love, towards them. Our desire should be to have our hearts established in holiness before God, and be preserved safe, to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Plumb line is also the judgment of God. God is here coming forth against this sinful nation, first by one judgment and then by another. Only way which the man can turn away from the wrath of God is the repentance. Goal and guidance of our life should be Jesus Christ and plumb line we use to build our life should be the grace of God. GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND LOVE OF THE GOD AND COMMUNION OF THE HOLY GOST
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua
St. Paul concludes his Epistles to Corinthians with a valediction and a benediction. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. It is usual and proper to dismiss worshipping assemblies in all denominations of Christianity. This plainly proves the doctrine of the gospel, and is an acknowledgment that Father, Son, and Spirit, are three distinct persons, yet but one God; and herein the same, that they are the fountain of all blessings to men. This benediction reiterates the faith in Trinity. The believers live in a continual regard to the three persons in the Trinity, into whose name we were baptized, and in whose name we are blessed. We can desire no more to make us happy than the grace of Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost.

GOD WITH US
By Rt. Rev. Bishop K.P. Kuruvilla
The Virgin shall be with Child and shall bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, 'God with us'. Here the Old Testament prophecies had their accomplishment in our Lord Jesus, for this was he to whom all the prophets bore witness. Now the scripture that was fulfilled in the birth of Christ was that promise of a sign, which God gave to king Ahaz. In the bringing of God and man together as per design of God, bring us to be with God, which is our great happiness.

IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY PRAYER
By AH.G. Mathews Mar Barnabas Metropolitan
Prayer is the interaction between the Father God and we children. Whatever we do for glory of God is worshipping. In prayer we praise God and supplicate our human needs. At the same time we accept our sin before God and ask for absolution from Him. The group prayers make us to accept our co-beings as equal. The family that prays together stays together. Holy Spirit is always our mediator and the Holy Spirit guides us in our prayer.

CALL AND CHOICE OF GOD
By Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew STOTS, Nagpur
St. Luke had given much emphasis in his Gospel for the episodes in the Public Ministry of Jesus which relate to the very common people and marginalised ones in the society. He had written regarding the call and choice of St. Peter in detail than all other evangelist. Manner of his writings are accurate, exact, polite and elegant. Jesus called people from different class of society. Scripture reveals us that people are called by God at different situations and places. The positive response we can give to call of God is made possible by the divine power of God.

MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU - CHAPTER 1 : SICKNESS, THE WAY OF BLESSING
By Fr. Dr. K.M. George And Mrs. Mariam Philiph George
Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. Jesus was a powerful and compassionate physician from heaven; Jesus went around not only for teaching, but for healing, and both with his word and His action. In some cases He sent his word, and healed people. He cured all type of sickness without exception. It is not wise or logical to think that sickness is the result of personal sin though there is relation between the fall of the man and infirmities of the mankind as a whole. The Christian tradition is to consider sickness as a blessing.

Digression from God, defeat any effort for conciliation among Churches. To accede with unification, we should be conscious of the underlying sin involved in separatism. Messiah has unified the world and heaven through the cross. Churches can reconcile each other only through the cross of Christ and in the model of Trinity. There is only one race and no doctrine of multiple castes. God's will is that all the churches are to be united. Churches can unite only if it becomes poor of its own accord. CHRISTIAN THOUGHTS
By Bishop Robert Solomon
The mind and thoughts of a Christian is very important. Bible had revealed us Who God is to us. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament law and the prophets. Old testament festivals and rituals were only the shadows of the reality, which was yet to come. When the reality came we are baptized to Christ to get joined with Him. The forgiveness is according to the sacrifice on the cross. The whole truth of reality is Jesus Christ. There is no knowledge besides Jesus Christ. We need to transform our mind not conforming to this world, but as per the mind of Jesus Christ. The transformation is way for salvation.
