This concept represents a spirituality of abundance and celebration. Benyamin further states: "Embrace celebration with one arm, and hold fast to God with the other. Ascend to the heights of prosperity, enjoyment, wealth, happiness, pleasure, delight, joy, bliss, contentment, satisfaction, and gratification." A theology that elevates this type of materialism is one of the greatest spiritual challenges of the modern world.

In this context, we should examine the teachings of the Eastern Church Father Arsenios (often known as Arsenius the Great). Once a highly placed imperial tutor in Rome, he received a divine vision directing him to "run away, be silent, and pray". Leaving his worldly status behind, he retreated to the Egyptian desert to live as an anchorite.

Known as the "guru of tears," he found profound joy and peace through tearful, ceaseless prayer. While in deep spiritual ecstasy, he once pondered if God was granting him all of his heavenly peace and joy now, leaving nothing for the future. He concluded that whatever he truly desired awaited him in heaven. Ultimately, his life teaches us to minimize worldly comforts and strive for eternal, heavenly rewards.
