H.G. Paulose Mar Gregorios Metropolitan
Late Diocesan Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese

How do we find a way to become a dynamic presence in our own nation? India, with her poverty and injustice, dishonesty and corruption, hope and frustration, lack of leadership and initiative, is one of the saddest nations of the world today. Is there some good news that we can be and bring to our people? In India we Christians need to realise the wide range of salvation that God brings -- not just the individual salvation in the other world, but corporate and national salvation here and now as well.

ECUMENISM AT GRASSROOTS
Rev. Fr. M. K. Kuriakose Philadelphia
It is urgent that we Christians loose our worldly identity and acquire Christian identity so that we can save not only the people but the entire earth from destruction. Unless we are united we cannot change the world from destruction. All wars, competition on trade and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction will end if we are united to spread the love of Christ to the world. The common man is looking forward to a practical way of witnessing Christ.

CRISIS, FOR THE PROSPERITY OF GOSPEL
By H.G. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostomos Metropolitan
Hardships and sufferings in our life should not cause for desperation, and God man should not get stumbled on that; instead it should happen for the prosperity and enlargement of Gospel. The persecutors cannot imprison the word of God. St. Paul considered his life was Christ, and his death was gain. It is the undoubted character of every good Christian that to him to live is Christ. The glory of Christ ought to be the end of our life, the grace of Christ the principle of our life, and the word of Christ the rule of it.

TWO WORDS PRAYER OF ST. PAUL : MARANATHA
By Rev. Fr. Dr. T. J. Joshua
Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam
Maranatha is the smallest prayer of St. Paul, we can see in his epistles. Maranatha is an Aramaic phrase occurring once only in the New Testament and also in the Didache which is part of the Apostolic Fathers' collection. It is transliterated into Greek letters rather than translated, and is found at the end of Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians. (1 Corinthians 16:22) This was a traditional prayer of early Christian Church which means 'O Lord, come!', for the early return of Jesus Christ. The prayer interpretation of the word is supported by what appears to be a Greek equivalent of this acclamation in Rev 22:20 'Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!'
