By Rt. H.G. Dr. Zachariahs Mar Theophilus
[Diocesian Metropolitan of Malabar Diocese, Malankara Orthodox Church]
The Spices to anoint Jesus are symbol of good works and rules of charity. Ultimate aim of all these good deeds is to contemplate Jesus as Messiah and heed to the exhortation to sanctify our self and live an anointed life. Jesus had come to this world not to hate or destroy, but to love and preserve peace on earth and goodwill toward men. The attitude that all mine is at your disposal for the good of the society is that of Jesus and Christian are supposed to preserve the same.

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD
By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
A true believer will have the great and glorious joy, which words cannot express, and the peace, which surpasses human understanding. Citizenship to the Kingdom of God and the eternal life in the presence of the living God are thus freely given to every believer in Jesus Christ. Good works are the expressions of salvation.

FAITH AND FAMILY - SERIES 8 : YOUTH AND FAITH
By Rev. Dr. Valsan Thampu
Faith is an adventure and a celebration of life. Spiritually, this materialistic age is infected with the virus of alienation that seems to have plunged our children into a sort of ‘acquired happiness deficiency syndrome’. Though there is an urgent need to address youth problems, youth continues to be a grossly neglected priority in our community today. True faith is faith in Jesus Christ who is the truth. Practice of true faith leads all people to fullness of life. Faith enables us to be faithful and compassionate.

FRUIT OF FEAR
By Mini Kirshnan - Madras
I was completely captivated by stories from the Bible learned in Catechism classes. The stories were all so memorable that I believed them all to be true in the literal sense. Like all scriptural stories they conveyed strong messages about how to be and what to do; so although they are metaphorical in nature, we were encouraged to believe that they had happened to real people. Indeed to a child the line between story and reality is so thin that quite often it disappears altogether.

CREATION OF A NEW GARDEN OF EDEN
By Mathew Kallumpram
The culmination of the Creation story is the Garden of Eden where God placed early humanity, which were Adam and Eve who lived in almost heavenly bliss without any stress or strife as their needs were limited and they could draw on the vast resources of the Garden. But as it so happened half of humanity represented in Eve wanted to reach out to the prohibited and the other half in Adam connived. That action opened their senses to deficiencies and the urge of possessiveness, which ended in their expulsion from the Garden. The loving and caring God continued to look after them and their progeny.

FORBIDDEN FRUIT
By E.S. John Australia
Our charity work that gives only the crumbs which falls from our dining table, not like that of the widow who put all her savings into the church treasury, is only for projecting our halo for earning our own good name. Both our inside and outside of our body belongs to the Almighty who designed both meticulously, so as to have a harmonious blending of our inner and outside life as a thing of beauty and joy forever. What we consider most precious is the one that we have to part with for others.

BORN FROM ABOVE
By Rev. John T. Mathew - Canada
How do we as Christians identify themselves? We carry the name of Christ. We are the people who are known for their loyalty to the historical person who was given the title of “anointed monarch” by his followers—Jesus, the Jew of Nazareth. Christian identity is to belong in a place that Jesus defines for us. Regrettably, Christianity has been reduced to a commodity, evolved into a system of ideas competing with others but we need to concentrate on the place in the world that is the place of Jesus, the anointed, the Messiah.

STORY
HEAVEN APPEARS AS HELL
By John Kunnathu
The day Jesus, our Lord, died—it still remains fresh in my memory. Although all the other disciples fled, I remained there. Something held me there. Perhaps it was my love for Him. I was the youngest of His disciples, and He always had a tender heart for me. The sight of my master being tortured was heartbreaking to me. Even more heartbreaking was the sight of His mother utterly heart-broken.
