FAMILY, STEWARDSHIP AND CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
By H.G. Dr. Yakob Mar Irenios Metropolitan
[Diocesan Metropolitan of Madras Diocese Malankara Orthodox Church]
Both in the East and West, the Family used to be a precious institution. Human civilization contemplate a proved advice on the one hand the strong tenure of family and family relationship, and on another an organic institute of religion. Family is a divinely established institution planted by God and it is sacred. Chastitity is valid in married life and more valid in unmarried life. We are kept in this world as steward and not as the owner. Christian leaders have the responsibility to keep the true meaning of leadership ready to serve and ready to sacrifice

OUR SAVIOUR WAS BORN
By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
The angel of the heaven declared to the shepherds of the field around Bethlehem about the birth of Jesus and then an army of heavenly angels celebrated the Lord’s birthday by praising God. Wise men from the East traveled hundreds of miles in search of baby Jesus to worship and celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world. Every time when celebrate Christmas, we are proclaiming to the whole world that the Savior was incarnated. It is an invitation to everybody to come and see the salvation in Christ Jesus like the shepherds and wise men were invited about two thousand years back.

GOD'S TIME - MAN'S TIME : WHOSE TIME? - PART 3
By Rev. Dr. Valsan Thampu
The meeting point between God's time and man's time is God and not man. Time and space are the media that God created for life and no man has authority over it. We can be their stewards, but not owners. The distinction between God's time and man's time, therefore, does not exist in mind of God and it exists only in the plan of man. Ecstasy and depression are the foretastes of heaven and hell. There are times when hours fly past without our being aware of it and there are times when time hangs heavy on us according to human expressions. We are slaves of chronological time, but striving for the ultimate liberation in finding kairos in every encounter. Concept of "Fixed" points on Earth are all part of the great illusions we live under.

BAPTISM IN THE THOUGHT OF ST. PAUL
By Fr. Dr. M.S. John
Baptism, as a ritual washing signifying cleansing or rebirth is an initiation ceremony of life. For St. Paul baptism is a unique personal experience, a sacramental act, that confers 'being in Christ'. For you were buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from death. To be the part of Salvation through Jesus Christ one has to participate in His death and resurrection. Salvation is an act of Grace from God. Benefit of this graceful act of God can be appropriated by the faith of the believer.

A PEBBLE FROM JERUSALEM
By Mini Krishnan Madras
What did we hope to possess if I do not grasp the simple messages Jesus had left behind? As against the immense economic power of the Temple was the troublesome mendicant-guru who had spoken of a kingdom but hadn’t owned anything. Nor had he written anything save something on the ground which no one had bothered to read or understand. Certainly we have no record of what it was. Yet, the effectiveness of Christ and the ineffectivenss of the Temple authorities was so frightening that the Romans and the Jewish religious leaders had sunk their differences to move against him.

"THE LORD GAVE, AND THE LORD HAS TAKEN AWAY...."
By E.S. John Australia
The inexplicable despair or exasperation of a hapless, helpless and hopeless victim of a sinister victim of circumstance is the one who instills hope and life at the expense of his own life here on earth and also in afterlife. Under circumstances of difficulties and calamities, rejoicing and singing in the Lord with the fable hero is a gift of the Spirit of God.

NOAH AND HIS HOUSEHOLD
By Rev. Fr. Jacob Koshy Puthoor
God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Lord told Noah to make an ark of gopher wood. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

RECONCILIATION IN THE CHURCH
By Geevarghese Mar Osthathios Metropolitan
Digression from God, defeat any effort for conciliation among Churches. To accede with unification, we should be conscious of the underlying sin involved in separatism. Messiah has unified the world and heaven through the cross. Churches can reconcile each other only through the cross of Christ and in the model of Trinity. There is only one race and no doctrine of multiple castes. God's will is that all the churches are to be united. Churches can unite only if it becomes poor of its own accord. The biggest media to unify the entire world is the Holy Bible.
